 The original German receiver markings are still visible, and indicate manufacture in 1881 and issue in 1882.

As with all of these "Dovitiis" conversions, the new barrel is marked with the name of the manufacturer S. F. A. P. (Société Française d'Armes Portatives) over St. Denis (a suburb of Paris)."
