URUGUAYAN " DOVITIIS " MAUSER

Well, here is an unusual rifle. These were built up commercially in France using old German M71 Mauser actions -- with new barrels, stocks, sights and a mix of old and new furniture -- including the original brass Mauser triggerguards.

This particular example is a nice long rifle (there were also carbines, although I have not seen one to report on). The serial numbers on this particular rifle match on the bolt, receiver, bolt stop screw and washer, bolt head, and safety.
