GUNSMITHS
These gunsmiths have done work for me personally, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.
Bob specializes in repairing and restoring vintage military rifles. He is also set up to make new stocks for many of these, and offers occasional "For Sale" lists of all kinds of interesting firearms. He performed a wonderful stock wrist repair on a GEW88 German Commission rifle for me. He has also refinished some Dutch Beaumont parts for me, corrected some GEW88 headspace problems, headspaced and made minor repairs to a GEW88 Schilling sporter, and professionally repaired a number of duffle cuts.
David made up a centerfire breechblock for a Model 1867/77 Swiss Peabody rifle for me (using a rimfire block I obtained from Dixie Gun Works. He has also made up Peabody centerfire firing pins for me from rimfire ones (also obtained from Dixie Gun Works), and repaired a Portuguese Guedes firing pin.
(I don't think David is online.)
